Alan Hu Foundation

Xiaofang Chen is Alan Hu’s mother,  the Co-Founder and President of Alan Hu Foundation. Xiaofang holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electronics from Beijing University, China, a Master of Science degree in Physics from Montana State University, and a Master of Arts in Teaching degree from Stony Brook University. She is a former photonics engineer, laser engineer, and high school physics teacher. After Alan passed away, she founded Alan Hu Foundation with her husband, Chih-Ching Hu, to honor Alan and to carry out his wish to help other people. She has become a devoted mental health advocate ever since then.

Alan Hu Foundation's mission is to promote mental health, raise awareness and remove stigma surrounding psychiatric disorders, and support fundamental research for cures.
